Picks for June 2nd

Like anything in life, if at first you don’t succeed, try again. That’s the mantra of ‘Degenerates Den.’ A mostly poor showing in the first round affords me the opportunity for a little redemption. Going forward I plan to purely bet with my head and not my heart. With that being said, let’s get to the picks.

Taking the under (5.5), Jets vs Canadiens

This pick is pretty straightforward. Neither team scores a lot of goals, so I am going to hammer the under. I get the feeling there will be a bit of a feeling out process between the two teams. This is a bit of a gutless bet. It’s a lot funner cheering for a team. However, after a tough start to the playoffs I need to start stringing together some wins.

-Wild Bill

Oh wow we have a young Buddha making picks. Or perhaps a degenerate who doesn’t know when to stop. I can’t argue with this bet. With two of the best goalies in the world playing, goals will be at a premium.

Colorado to win in regulation at 1.76

The Avalanche are not going undefeated in the playoffs. They will eventually lose, but tonight will not be the night. If Fleury is in net there is always the possibility he steals the game. The better the competition the better he plays. Saying that, I don’t see him keeping Colorado to less than 3 goals. Vegas was embarrassed last game and I am expecting a better showing. However, the Avalanche are too fast and talented. The Knights will do their best to keep them to the perimeter, but mistakes will be made and Colorado will capitalize.

-Wild Bill

With one simple pick Wild Bill keeps himself employed for another week. I am not convinced my boys will lose a game in the playoffs, but I will let it slide. Go Avs.
